About the movie

Claire Lagedemond is a Franco-Burkinabe mixed race woman who grew up in the village with her grandmother. She was separated from her father at the age of six. Today, aged more than 40 years old, the desire to find this father who has become a ghost for her is an obsession. Her quest for identity brings her back to her painful past, which she shares with her father while conducting her investigations. Besides, she fights to prevent her son whose father is absent, living the same situation as her.

About the director

Bayala Marie Laurentine studied communication and journalism at the University of Ouagadougou. After obtaining her master’s degree, she pursued film studies at the University Gaston Berger (Senegal) culminating in a Master 2 in documentary creation. Laurentine also had the opportunity to study cinema in the United States after her selection at the Hubert Fellowship Program in 2017.
