“THIS JUNGO LIFE” takes us deep inside the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers from Sudan, living and sleeping rough on the streets of Morocco; forced to flee violence and instability in Libya, and unable to return home due to ongoing war and conflict. With unique and intimate access, we are given a glimpse into the human spirit and innate drive for survival, as they fight for a better life for themselves and the families they left behind.

« THIS JUNGO LIFE » nous plonge au cœur de la vie de jeunes réfugiés et demandeurs d’asile du Soudan, vivant et dormant dans la rue au Maroc. Ces derniers, contraints de fuir la violence et l’instabilité en Libye, sont dans l’impossibilité de rentrer chez eux en raison de la guerre en cours. Alors qu’ils se battent afin d’avoir une vie meilleure pour eux-mêmes et pour les familles qu’ils ont laissées derrière eux; grâce à une rare intimité, nous avons accès à l’esprit humain et à sa volonté innée de survie.
About the directors
David Fedele
David Fedele (1977) is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, particularly interested in exploring cultural,
humanitarian, environmental and social justice issues around the world. His films have explored such diverse topics as sub-Saharan African migration in North and West Africa, electronic waste (e-waste) in Ghana, chronic kidney disease in Sri Lanka, and illegal logging in Papua New Guinea, and have been screened widely around the world, including at the European Parliament in Brussels
(Belgium), winning numerous awards. David was selected to participate at Berlinale Talents as part of Berlin International Film Festival (2014). He was also a jury member at the Cinema Planeta International Environmental Film Festival (2014) in Mexico, and
president of the jury at the SREM International Environmental Film Festival (2015) in Serbia. David’s latest film “THIS JUNGO LIFE” (78mins/2024) takes us deep inside the daily lives of a group of young refugees and asylum seekers from Sudan, living and sleeping rough on the streets of Morocco. With unique and intimate access, we are given a glimpse into the human spirit and innate drive for survival, as they fight for a better life for themselves and the families they left behind.
