English —After spending several months in a slump with no friends in her corner and a tarnished reputation to boot, Autumn Academy’s Student Body President Charlotte St. Germain must clean up her act and assemble a new campaign team in order to win another term against popular yearbook editor Jonathan Grant.
French —Après avoir passé plusieurs mois dans un marasme sans amis dans son coin et une réputation ternie à démarrer, la présidente du corps étudiant de l’Autumn Academy, Charlotte St. Germain, doit nettoyer son acte et rassembler une nouvelle équipe de campagne afin de gagner un autre mandat contre la célèbre éditrice de l’annuaire Jonathan Grant.
About the director
English — Tope Babalola is a 22-year-old Canadian filmmaker born to Nigerian parents. Babalola has always been interested in film, television, and the creative process. At the age of six he began composing short stories, and between the ages of twelve and fifteen published three novels. His venture into filmmaking and editing began around age eleven with filming and editing home videos for personal entertainment. Babalola began to further his interest in film by taking film courses in high school, as well as post-secondary intensive film production programs.
Since 2016, Babalola has been directing, editing, and producing feature length films with the students of Springs Christian Academy (SCA), with Popular Vote being his fourth feature of this kind. He is currently working on his fifth feature with SCA, Hall Monitors.
French — Tope Babalola est un cinéaste canadien de 22 ans, né de parents nigérians. Babalola a toujours été intéressée par le cinéma, la télévision et le processus de création. À l’âge de six ans, il commence à composer des nouvelles et publie trois romans entre douze et quinze ans. Son aventure dans le cinéma et le montage a commencé vers l’âge de onze ans avec le tournage et le montage de vidéos personnelles pour le divertissement personnel. Babalola a commencé à s’intéresser davantage au cinéma en suivant des cours de cinéma au lycée, ainsi que des programmes postsecondaires intensifs de production cinématographique.
Depuis 2016, Babalola dirige, monte et produit des longs métrages avec les étudiants de la Springs Christian Academy (SCA), Popular Vote étant son quatrième long métrage de ce type. Il travaille actuellement sur son cinquième long métrage avec SCA, Hall Monitors.
