About the directors
Ottis Ba
Ottis Ba was born in Dakar. He moved to Paris at the age of 15. It was then that he began to learn French and developed a passion for the theater. He attended drama school at Acting International and played in William Shakespeare’s Othello, then in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Théâtre National de Nice, directed by Peter Brook, a disciple of Krysztof Warlikowski. Ottis Ba began venturing into cinema at this time, first as an actor and then as a director, becoming a self-taught filmmaker. He made a few low-budget shorts, including one with French actress AÏssa Maïga. And now his first feature film, DENT POUR DENT.
